Melody Pongmanopap, DDS
Dr. Melody Pongmanopap was born and raised in Southern California. She studied biology at UC Berkeley. After graduating, she spent three years as a middle and high school teacher teaching science and math. During this time, she learned flexibility in working with people of diverse backgrounds and ages. Teaching gave her invaluable experience to pursue her passion for health care.
Dr. Pongmanopap attended dental school University of the Pacific in San Francisco. While in school, she completed many community service events at health fairs and local schools. She also had the great opportunity to volunteer in Jamaica for a week where she donated free dental work to the local community. After graduating, she moved to Washington and completed a residency program in Tacoma. She continued to work in community health afterwards and enjoyed helping low income patients receive much needed dental care. She then wanted to transition to a family practice and build long lasting relationships with patients.
She currently lives in Tacoma with her husband, Albert, who is another dentist she met in school. During her free time, she enjoys exercising, yoga, travel, cooking, and reading books.
